THE FREIGHT market remains at levels that are extreme by historic standards and, as we have been arguing for a while now, we expect this to be a lasting scenario. Although the fundamental outlook is balanced, a correction is materializing at the moment, as predicted last month. Rates are falling in both the cape and panamax segments, while the handymax market keeps strengthening further, and thus brings itself better in line with the other segments.
