RGC gets Cudgen

In spite of the continuing lack of output from SRL, RGC does not expect the losses from that operation to affect its overall financial performance for the rest of this year. As well as the obvious synergy with CRL, the move has also given RGC control of another wholly-owned Cudgen subsidiary, Australian Bentonite. The latter operates a 50,000 tpa sodium bentonite mine and plant at Gurulmundi, Miles in Queensland. The company supplies a number of grades, namely: Trugel - drilling grades under API licence; Truben general grades for bonding, sealants etc; Trubond - high quality grades for foundry casting; and Trufeed - animal feed grades. RGC states that it will not make any plans for Australian Bentonite until it has had the opportunity to review the operation.
