Putting a modern windows user interface on top of the latest data analysis routines has significantly eased the work involved in investigating sedimentation equilibrium experiments. Sedimentation experiments have long been considered the best way to determine molecular weights; association constants', and study homogeneity, shape, and other molecular parameters of many macromolecules. The problem has long been that state-of-the-art data analysis routines were accessible only to users with the time and patience to deal with an antiquated user interface and operating environment. Recently, equipment manufacturers have incorporated these powerful analysis routines behind a commercial scientific data analysis and technical graphics Windows application. As a result, the number of users of this technology has grown dramatically in the past two years.
