摘要

In a Hungarian long-term experiment established in 1983 in a calcareous chernozem, the effects of various rates of fertilizers are studied in maize (Zea mays L.^-tri-culture. Here we report the impacts on the soil pH, and soil acidity, available nutrient content as well as soil microbiological characteristics and properties linked to the carbon and nitrogen cycle from data collected in two study years 2009 and 2010. The results confirm that fertilization at reasonable rates had positive effects on several chemical and biological soil parameters. The amount of organic carbon and nitrogen, the number of microorganisms and the activity of certain enzymes, increased. But the drastic decrease in soil pH, and the increase of hydrolytic acidity caused by fertilization highlights the importance of mitigating soil acidification.
