An updated device for measuring the dielectric-loss tangent tanδ equipped with an automatically balanced bridge is described. The range of measurement of tan 6 is 10{sup}(-4)- 10{sup}(-1), and the working-frequency range for a sinusoidal voltage (0 - 6000 V) is 0.05-120.0 kHz. The errors in tanδ measured using the updated device and an R5026M bridge are compared.
