摘要

The post-exposure efficacy of DNA combined tissue culture anti-rabies vaccine with two different schedules was evaluated in goats. Exposed goats received the vaccine either at days 0, 3, 7, 14 and 28 or at days 0, 1, 2, 3 and 4. It triggered protective levels of neutralizing antibody on day 7 post-exposure which reached peak on day 14 and it supported the value of DNA based vaccination in post-exposure situation. Adequate levels of antibody (>=0.5 IU/ml) were observed in serum samples from all the animals on day 7 post-exposure and the antibodies persisted in all up to 90th day of study period. All the treated goats were alive up to 180 days indicating the higher clinical vaccine efficacy.
