THE BEHAVIOR OF TRISDIALKYLAMINOPHOSPHINES AND ALKYL PHOSPHITES TOWARDS 5.6-DIPHENYL-4-CYANO-PYRIDAZIN-3-THIONE

Trisdimethylaminophosphine(5a)reacts with 5,6-diphenyl-4-cyanopyridazin-3-thione(2)to give both the open dipolar adduct 7a and the phosphonate adduct(8).When trisdiethylaminophosphine(5b)reacts with 2,the open dipolar adduct 7b is the sole reaction product,on the other hand,dialkyl phosphites(6a-c)react with compound 2 to give the respective alkylated products(9a-c)and the substituted diakyl phosphonate adducts(10a-b).Possible reaction mechanisms are considered and the structural assignments are based on compatible analytical and spectroscopic results.
