NEW DELHI: HERE'S sane good news for power-starved India. Thermal power plans a ross the country had to cut down on generation due to shortage of coal. However, this will soon be a thing of the past. Global and domestic mining companies like BHP Billiton, RIO Tinto and Sesa Goa will get exclusive rights to operate coal mines in India. This will end the shortage of locally mined coal, that is partly responsible for the power supply crunch.
