In automotive industry terms, at least in France, a body architect brings together the results of all the other professionals who have been working on a concept, and ensures that all the elements - most of them factored on a one-off basis - come together in a credible working prototype. This prototype must stand scrutiny as a viable representation of a real car when senior executives gather round to discuss production viability, and equally when the public cluster round on a motor show stand. These are the toughest audiences in the world of motoring, and according to their responses to this single concept vehicle the whole project may stand or fall.
