Growers give the lowdown on improved training systems

Proponents say improved training systems, such as Scott Henry, Lyre and Smart Dyson, can deliver higher yields of improved quality due to their ability to overcome a dense canopy. Yet, growers in Australia have been slow to adopt these systems, perhaps because of perceptions that they are difficult and time consuming to manage, or perhaps too costly. In an effort to determine whether there is any truth to these concerns and if the systems have lived up to expectations, Australian Viticulture sought comment from the following growers who have put them to the test.
