Increasing yield of sugarcane ratoon by application of Trichoderma harzianum

摘要

Metabolites of Trichoderma harzianum (Th 37) was found effective for the control of red rot completely in 43.51% canes and partially in 22.97% canes. The treatment was found to improve stubble sprouting by 5.81 tonnes/ha, tillers by 12.02 tonnes/ha and cane population by 5.15 tonnes/ha leading to enhanced yield by 17.91 ha over untreated check. Trichoderma multiplied culture (TMC) in press mud was also equally effective for increasing stubble sprouting, tiller population, number ofmillable canes, control of red rot and improvement in yield. Though spore suspension was less effective than the TMC and metabolites. Since, application of TMC is comparatively easier hence, it is recommended for the farmers to improve the ratoon productivity.
