ANT1FUNGAL ACTIVITY OF CHELIENTHES ALBOMARGINATA CLARKE AND MARSILEA MINUTA LINN. AGAINST ASPERGILLUS FLAWS

In the present investigation various aqueous and alcoholic extracts of plant parts of Chelienthes albomarginata and Marsilea minuta were tested against the growth of phytopathogenic fungus. Aspergillus flavus, the producer of Aflatoxins. It was foundthat nearly extracts of all the plant parts produced inhibitory effect against the fungus, but higher degree of inhibitions were recorded in leaflet and petiole extracts of Marsilea minuta (10 ml/per plate dilution) and in alcoholic extract of rhizome ofChelienthes albomarginata (10 ml. per plate dilutions).
