Improved techniques for tree seedling in hot arid regions

摘要

Afforestation in arid regions is a serious problem due to scarcity of rainfall and poor water retention capacity of soil. Treatment of soil of the planting pit with hydrophilic polymers, composite materials along with rainwater harvesting through micro-catchment were found highly effective in improving the establishment and growth of tree seedling. These techniques are highly useful for developing orchards with limited availability of water.
