Aryl,lipid and triterpenoid constituents from Oenothera biennis

In addition to oleanolic acid,maslinic acid,sitosterol,gallic acid,2,7,8-trimethylellagic acid,tetramethylellagic acid,four new compounds isolated from the roots of Oenothera biennis have been characterized as 2-methyl-7-oxo-trietracont-1,5-dien-21-ol,18-hydroxypentacos-21-en-1-oic acid,5-methyl-27-oxo-triacont-4-en-24-ol and 3,5-dihydroxy-4-pent-4'-enoyl-1'-oxymethylbenzoic acid by spectral data and chamical studies.
