One of the greatest challenges facing modern farming is maintaining soilcondition and fertility in light of increasingly unpredictable and extreme weather across the country. For this reason, and to celebrate the International Year of Soils, the NFU joint hosted an event with the Game and Wildlife Conservation Trust (GWCT) at the Allerton Project, Loddington. This brought together researchers, agricultural advisers, agronomists, policymakers and NFU members to discuss these challenges and showcase the work already being undertaken on the ground.
