The dairy industry has suffered yet more blows to milk prices, after both Arla and First Milk announced July price cuts. The first, the biggest dairy co-operative in the UK, Arla, announced a cut to the price it pays its UK members by 1.18ppl, takingit to 23.81ppl.Taking effect from 6 July, Arla Foods amba on-account price reduced by one eurocent per kg (0.77 pence when applied to the UK standard litre).NFU dairy board chairman Rob Harrison said: "This is yet another body blow to dairy farmers whose businesses have been in utter turmoil for the past 12 months. The recent series of cuts have highlighted the need for short-term solutions to address the problems happening now - farmers need urgent help from industry and government.
