Packing oranges in CFB cartons of cotton plant stalks is economical

Due to lighter weight and dimentional suitability for transport vehicle, more CFB boxes are carried per trip and hence net returns are more. It is also beneficial to use CFB boxes from cotton plant stalks as cost of these boxes is on a par with conventional wooden boxes. The corrugated fibre board (CFB) boxes of plant stalks (CPS) can be used as a substitute for wooden boxes. The CFB boxes are most ideal for packaging oranges. The manufacturers of CFB boxes depend on forest resources for thier raw material. To reduce continued denudation of forests, to protect environment and to maintain ecological balance, use of wood as a raw material for manufacturing of CFB boxes needs to be curtailed. There exists, therefore, an imperative need to switch over to more viable non-conventional and eco-friendly ligno-cellulosic raw material like cotton plant stalks for manufacturing of kraft paper from which CFB boxes are made. The cost of CPS kraft paper boxes is on a par with wooden boxes.
