IEI Celebrates World Telecommunication and Information Society Day Theme : Better Life so Rural Communities with ICTs

The Chief Guest, Mr B S Murthy, former Member, Telecom Commission, presented a brief account of ITU. He spoke about application of ICTs in various fields like education, public distribution system and telemedicine. He suggested that in the coming decade, all the efforts should be made for broadband access from every corner of the country. Dr Niraj Upadhyay, Head, Department of CSE, J B Institute of Engineering and Technology, Hyderabad, in his Keynote Address, highlighted various applications of ICTs in social, agricultural, educational, engineering, marketing, industrial and medical fields. The function was presided over by Prof T Narayana, Chairman of the Centre.
