Quality and reliability are essential requirements when supplying the automotive industry. We find out how one automotive supplier has improved its handling efficiencies, flow of goods and storage to ensure it could continue to meet customer demands. To complete the fifth in a series of overhead conveyor installations which have been designed to improve handling efficiencies, flow of goods and storage at the Winsford manufacturing plant of Mitras Automotive (UK), the company turned again to MCM Conveyors. Mitras Automotive is a 1 and 2 Tier supplier of composite products to the automotive industry, which are produced in relatively large volumes by a compression moulding technique for applications ranging from structural parts to 'A' class body panels, prior to being assembled and finally painted to the customers satisfaction. With quality and reliability of operation being an essential requirement when supplying the automotive industry, Mitras again chose MCM because of success on the previous installations, which utilised MCMs Powertrack 30 and 100 overhead conveyor systems to transport product from moulding, through to paint shop and assembly operations.
