In this conference the model-independent result on the presence ofdark-matter particles in the galactic halo obtained over seven annual cycles by the 100 kg highly radiopure Nal(T1) DAMA/NaI has been presented and several corol-lary investigations have also been discussed. More recently the model-independentresult obtained over the first four annual cycles by the second generation 250 kghighly radiopure NaRT1) DAMA/LIBRA set-up at the Gran Sasso National Labo-ratory of the INFN has also been released. Both the experiments have the uniquefeature to effectively investigate the presence of dark-matter particles in the galac-tic halo by exploiting the model-independent annual modulation signature. Thedata collected by the two experiments over eleven annual cycles for a total expo-sure of 0.82 ton x y have pointed out at 8.2a CL a positive resu several corollarymodel-dependent quests for the candidate particle(s) and related astrophysical, nu-clear and particle physics scenarios are under updating. The future experimentalactivity can give rise to many new interesting results.
