A servo-driven production machine for a new cardboard carton concept was designed and built in under six months from the concept stage. Anew concept of cardboard carton, that incorporates a film to wrap the product, saving on packaging material and reducing waste, has been patented by Smart Karton. To produce the carton, the company needed a new design of production machine, and turned to packaging company Europack for help. In partnership with drives specialist Lenze, Europack was able to design a high-speed servo-driven machine - from concept to build, within five months.
