The device has a centering device (10) determining a predetermined initial position of an input shaft (2) to an output shaft (3), to allow an axial movement of the input shaft. The device (10) has an inner sleeve (11) supported axially by the input shaft. An outer sleeve (13) is adjustably supported on the sleeve (11) by rolling bodies that are spring-loaded radially outwards and distributed over the circumference. The sleeves are designed as sheet metal deformation parts. The sleeve (13) has a radial flange (18) axially supported at a front surface (23) of the shaft (3) by centering balls.
