THIS 2014-19 generation of the Twingo shares a rear-engined platform with the Smart ForFour, and its funky five-door styling, good spec and decent ride comfort make it great used buy. If you want something as fresh as possible, then be prepared to pay up to ￡5,500 for a 2016 1.0 SCe with 50,000 miles. We'd probably prefer a 2015 car with 30-40k miles for similar money. Go for the 90bhp version of the 1.0-litre engine, rather than the 70bhp, because it's a better all-rounder for any out-of-town trips, and also comes with our favoured Dynamique trim.
