US Intrepid Potash set to idle New Mexico facility

HOUSTON (ICIS)--US fertilizer producer Intrepid Potash announced on Monday that due to pressures in the marketplace, it has decided to idle operations in New Mexico at its West facility and transition the facility to care-and-maintenance mode in July. The West facility, which generated 42% of Intrepid's potash production in 2015, is a conventional mine in Carlsbad, New Mexico.
