Sherritt announces start-up of Cuba's Moa acid facility

LONDON (ICIS)--Nickel major Sherritt International has started to produce sulphuric acid at its new Moa joint venture in Cuba with General Nickel Company S.A. (GNC), the company said on Tuesday. The 2,000 tonne/day plant was said to be producing approximately 900 tonnes/day of acid with full performance testing scheduled "over the coming weeks".
