China’s Shandong Haitian runs soda ash plant at 100%, exports halved

SINGAPORE (ICIS)--China’s Shandong Haitian Bio-Chemical Co is currently operating its 1.1m tonne/year soda ash plant at Changyi, Shandong province, at its usual rate of 100%, but has halved its export volumes since February, a company official said on Wednesday. This is due to a domestic supply shortage which was sparked off by the unplanned outage at major producer Shandong Haihua’s plant in February, the official added.
