REVIEW OF DEVELOPMENTS IN THE WORLD COCOA SITUATION

The estimates and forecasts contained in this issue of the Quarterly Bulletin of Cocoa Statistics reflect the most recent information available to the secretariat of the International Cocoa Organization as at the beginning of May 2006. The revised global crop, grindings and stocks data for the 2004/05 and 2005/06 cocoa years are summarized in Table 1. World and regional totals and the most significant changes in country production and grindings figures for 2005/06 compared with the previous year arecontained in Tables 2 and 3. Information on cocoa production and grindings in individual countries and trends in individual cocoa-producing and cocoaprocessing countries over the most recent five cocoa seasons is presented in Tables 4 and 5 respectively.
