Successful Rally for Suction Dredge Miners in Idaho

On June 30, 2014, my daughter and I arrived in Riggins, Idaho, to visit with suction gold dredgers staging a protest against EPA interference with the permitting process. For those of you who aren't aware of the current dredge permitting sit-uation in Idaho, following is a brief recap. In May 2012, the Environmental Protection Agency published a notice in the federal register that spelled out their intent to require a National Pollutant Discharge Elimination System (NPDES) General Permit for suction gold dredges in Idaho.
