摘要

This study aims to estimate the mechanical properties of a spot-welded joint by using an instrumented indentation test and a finite element analysis. First, we determine the mechanical properties required for the finite element analysis through tensile tests for a base material. Then, we performed the finite element analysis to determine the indentation behavior of the base material and obtain the stress-strain relationship at a specific observation point. Further, the finite element analysis is performed using a Berkovich indenter to evaluate the changes in the mechanical properties due to the residual stress generated during the welding process. This process helps yield the indentation load-displacement curve as well as the stress-strain relationship at a defined observation point of the welding area.
