Host resistance combined with foliar spray of chemicals i.e. ridomil MZ 72 and mancozeb 50 WP @ 0.2 percent each gave best protection against late blight disease of potato, where disease severity in foliage and tubers (7.0 percent & 5.0 percent) wasless. Yield (260 q/ha) was comparatively higher due to 15 days delayed onset of the disease. Besides this, the resistant cultivar alone also proved effective in managing the late blight disease since Kufri Badshah had shown high degree of field resistance to late blight. On the other hand, host resistance combined with foliar spray of micronutrients viz., ZnSO_4 and CuSO_4 @ 0.2 percent had shown 12 days delayed onset of late blight disease, lower disease severity in foliage and tubers (10.0 percent), and higher yield (235 q/ha) potential. Application of groundnut cake had a good prospect in this region in order to combat late blight pathogen.
