I HAD fun in April visiting the Melbourne International Flower and Garden Show, held at the Exhibition Building and Carlton Garden. Garden designers, nurseries and florists created some innovative, dramatic display gardens and arrangements. Most garden shows in Australia lack that dash of inspiration and flair to make visitors rush home laden with new plants and ideas. Although many aspire to levels seen in large, overseas shows such as the Chelsea Flower Show, few get close. But if support for the Melbourne floral show continues, it could live up to its grandiose name.
