THIS is another new-for-2022 tyre with a focus on durability, so perhaps it's no surprise that it ended up with much the same rating as the Hankook. Where the Michelin differs is that it has two layers of rubber to improve performance as the tyre wears and offset the loss of grip in the wet. The design is part of Michelin's drive to ensure a tyre performs well down to the legal limit. We didn't trouble the second layer, but the top compound was good enough for the Primacy 4+to narrowly take second spot across the wet tests from the Goodyear, albeit a step behind the Continental.
