The efficacy of Trichoderma spp. and some fungicides was investigated against tikka disease [Mycosphaerella berkeleyi and Passalora arachidicola] of groundnut in Allahabad, Uttar Pradesh, India, in 2011. The treatments were: T1-thiram as seed treatment (ST) at 3 g/kg seed+carbendazim as foliar spray (FS) at 0.1%, T2-thiram as ST+Blitox-50 [copper oxychloride] as FS at 0.2%, T3-thiram as ST+Trichoderma harzianum (Th) as FS at 6 kg/ha, T4-carbendazim as ST at 1 g/kg seed+carbendazim as FS, T5-carbendazim as ST+Blitox-50 as FS, T6-carbendazim as ST+Th as FS, T7-Trichoderma viride (Tv) as ST at 4 g/kg+carbendazim as FS, T8-Tv as ST+Blitox-50 as FS, T9-Tv as ST+Th as FS and an untreated control. Foliar spraying was carried out at an interval of 15 days starting at 40 days after sowing (DAS). At 15 DAS, T1 was significantly superior in increasing germination percentage (94.2%), closely followed by T3 (93.9%), compared to the control (74.2%). At 50 and 65 DAS, T1 was significantly superior in controlling early leaf spot (13.3 and 32.5 PDI), followed by T7 (15.3 and 35.3 PDI), compared to the control (25.4 and 48.3 PDI). At 65 and 80 DAS, T1 was significantly superior in controlling late leaf spot (16.9 and 26.1 PDI). Significantly higher pod yield at harvest was recorded with T1 (493.33 q/ha), followed by T3 (446.66 q/ha), compared to the control (336.33 q/ha).
