Sorghum heads crop options

Choosing the most profitable mix of summer crop is difficult this year because of the volatility of sorghum and cotton prices. During the last year, sorghum has traded between 100 dollar and 200 dollar per tonne. Sorghum is likely to remain the most profitable summer crop in northern grain growing regions for 2005-06. Cotton prices remain low, but have not stayed low for more than two years in the past, despite higher world stocks than we have at present. There is still a good chance cotton prices may reach 500 dollar/bale before harvest in March 2006.
