The advantages and disadvantages of simulation are analyzed. An interpretation of associative modeling that relies on the behavior protocol of real world or virtual objects and a procedure of multidimensional linear extrapolation, understood as an associative means of extending a protocol to new situations, is proposed. An algorithm for the design of associative models is described, their specification is investigated, and their advantages and disadvantages are analyzed. Examples that illustrate the design of associative models of real world and virtual objects are presented.
