Infrared images diagnose peanut problems

INFRARED photography has helped to identify problem pests and diseases in Wide Bay Burnett peanut crops before they have been seen by the naked eye. Queensland Department of Primary Industries and Fisheries principal agronomist, Dr Graeme Wright, hasbeen using a low cost digital camera to capture infrared aerial images as part of ongoing peanut research. "Dr Wright has shown that infrared imagery can help in identifying poorly watered areas in irrigated paddocks due to either insufficient watering or poorly designed irrigation equipment, or both.
