US NRC approves transfer of Susquehanna plant license in reorganization plan

The US Nuclear Regulatory Commission has approved thetransfer of the operating licenses of Talen Energy’s Susquehannanuclear station in Pennsylvania as part of a reorganization thatcould be in place by early May.Talen notified the US Bankruptcy Court for the SouthernDistrict of Texas April 3 that the NRC had given approval of thetransfer and that the Federal Energy Regulatory Commissionhad also signed off on the transaction, in which creditors andnew investors are expected to become the new owners of thereorganized company.
