CONVENTIONAL agronomic practices are now being turned upside down with the advent of the latest space-age farming technology from the United States. Known as prescription or precision farming, the US technology relies on a satellite-based system to produce a computer-aided grid map of paddocks. Soil testing, yield information and other data can then be inputted to pinpoint what is happening in a specific part of a paddock in relation to crop performance, nutrient deficiencies and so on.
