A dashboard is one of technology's business intelligence tools that provides awareness, trending and comparisons of both operations and finances. A well-defined and comprehensive dashboard can translate data into information that supports making knowledge-based decisions. In 2002 Trinity Health, headquartered in Novi MI, centralized the clinical engineering function of five of its hospitals into Trinity Health Clinical Engineering (THCE); today, 26 hospitals take part. THCE has a multifaceted purpose-to link medical equipment acquisitions to the service and support of the equipment, to create an economy of scale, and to develop consistent and compliant operations.
