A new approach to the reliability analysis of safety instrumented systems

摘要

The construction of models describing the reliability of a complex safety instrumented system including the effects of maintainance at deterministic time instances is a challenge and restricts the possible level of details reflected by the model. Probabilistic Boolean Networks (PBN) are introduced as compact linear description of a stochastic automaton with deterministic transitions. Based on PBN, a method is presented that enables to automatically generate the model for complex systems based on simple inputs.
