Africa Downunder veterans would be quite familiar with the Perseus Mining Ltd story and 2011 marked a new chapter with first gold being poured at its Central Ashanti gold project (CAGP), now renamed Edikan gold mine in Ghana. Involved in West Africa for the past 15 years, managing director Mark Calderwood was elated with the August 21 gold pour and said the commissioning process would continue for two to three months before commercial production of 200,000 ozpa in the first year of production.
