The massive new Perth Convention and Exhibition Centre is Western Australia's largest and only purpose-built conven-Ltion, exhibition and meeting centre, catering for functions of up to 2,500 delegates. The State's booming economy and tourism trade will be boosted with the opening of the new dollar 220 million building in the heart of Perth's Central Business District, on the Swan River. Designed by Architects Cox Group, engineered by Arup and delivered by Multiplex, the three-level Perth Convention Exhibition Centre is Western Australia's only purpose-built convention exhibition and meeting venue, catering for up to 5,000 delegates. Multiplex, Cox Group, and Arup have an enviable track record for delivering results. Multiplex built Stadium Australia, the Sydney 2000 Olympic Games venue, and Western Australian achievements include the East Perth Redevelopment, Subiaco Railway Tunnel and Station, BankWest Tower and St John of God Hospital. Some Arup projects in WA include the Burswood casino, Tree Top Walk, the Raffles hotel redevelopment (currently working on), BankWest Tower, and Swan Bells Tower.
