Yamato Expects Drastic Changes to Continue in 2015

Shogo Kondo, President and CEO of Yamato Sewing Machine Mfg. Co., Ltd., expects that drastic changes are likely to continue in the apparel industry this year. Having been led by drastic changes in social structure of current leading apparel supplier countries and political/economical unrest in several areas, the world's apparel industries have been experiencing considerable changes. Some have shifted production facilities to countries with lower labor cost, abundant labor availability or favorable trade conditions to apparel consuming countries, while others have tried to find ways to survive under uprising costs and labor unavailability.
