Taufik Effendi,Indonesia's State Minister for Administrative Reforms has recently made its intention to increase the minimum wage of low-grade government employees to Rp.2 million next year.The same minister points out that the number of tax payers rose from 2.8 million in 2004 to 12 million and says,"It is possible to raise wages as a result of intensified tax collection."The minister also showed his view that "The minimum wage of government employees is already up from Rp.668,000 in 2004 to Rp.1.06 million.
