Richard F.Sweet, head of franchise business of Marks & Spencer of the U.K., was recently in India. M&S has two franchisee stores in Mumbai and New Delhi and, said Sweet, is not in a hurry to expand. According to Sweet, the infrastructure still has a long way to go, and gray (illegal) market imports cause severe problems.
