Japanese-affiliated textile firms operating actively in Thailand are suffering severely from a higher baht. The challenging task for each firm is how to achieve a price rise against a backdrop of soaring raw material and mineral fuel prices. In addition to a higher baht as well as rising prices of raw materials and mineral fuel, the phenomenon of the Chinese textile industry being the "one-and-only winner" forced Japanese-affiliated textile firms doing business in Thailand to close a difficult year in 2007.
