Kinetics of liquid absorption by biotextiles with complex absorbent structure. Influence of a superabsorptive gel polymer. Disposable diapers are materials with a heterogeneous structure consisting of a fibrous cellulosic support and a reinforcement by a superabsorptive polymer (SAP) profile. In this study we are interested in the modes of use of these absorbent materials, especially dispersion techniques of SAP polymers in the absorbent core, and in their physical and chemical properties such the absorption capacity or fluid transport mechanisms. In laboratory samples absorption and retention tests with standard liquids (deionized water and physiological saline solution) were performed. The analysis of results revealed the absorption capacities of these biotextiles; the improvement of their characteristics is conditioned by the superabsorptive polymer. [References: 9]
