The changing market environment has made it increasingly tough to eke out a living from a traditional farm lifestyle for family farmers throughout our region. Farmer and herbalist Natalie Bragg-Taylor of Knot-II-Bragg Farm in Maine realized she wouldhave to change her focus if the farm and its woodlands that have provided for six generations of her family were to survive. "When you look at the forest, think 'diversity,'" said Bragg-Taylor. "You have to figure out who you are, and where you came from, and that will tell you what you have to offer... I had to quit fighting, to learn to see what was there (and to believe) it will provide."
