Forest Certification Week: Linking Sustainable Forest Product Supply Chains through Asia

The Programme for the Endorsement of Forest Certification (PEFC) has held its 18th General Assembly and Stakeholder Dialogue, for the first time in a tropical country. Recognising that Asia holds the key to unlocking the production and trade of sustainable forest products, and in recognition of the growing importance of the region, PEFC selected Malaysia to hold the 18th General Assembly. The General Assembly was officially opened by the Malaysian Minister of Plantations and Commodities (MPIC), DatukAmar Douglas Uggah Embas, at a ceremony attended by PEFC members from 47 countries. The Stakeholder Dialogue offered a wide range of working sessions and side events attended by over 300 delegates from around the world.
