China's exports of textile products have become weakened.The growth rate of exports is on a slow downtrend and the business activity in the textile industry for 2006 is like to fall.Export tariffs on textile products were abolished on January 1,2006.Such a short-term favorable factor is unlikely to change the demand trend within the industry.The cancellation of export tariffs will reduce the export cost on the part of firms;however,the overall export cost will rise because of higher bid prices for quotas of 21 categories of textile products bound for the U.S.
